Please tell us about the projects you worked on before making 'STASH'. How did you start, and how did you learn to make films?
Before 'STASH The Movie’, my background was in the music industry, and my work there naturally led me to creating music videos. This transition sparked my passion for filmmaking and led me to pursue making movies. 'STASH The Movie’ became my first film project, and from there, I further honed my skills in the world of film.

Tell us about 'STASH'. How do you describe it?
'STASH The Movie’ is a bold, energetic, and cinematic indie film with a deep emotional core. It blends the excitement of action and thriller genres with heartfelt, character-driven storytelling. The film allows audiences to connect with the characters on a personal level, and although it's created with fans of action films in mind, it's designed to be accessible and engaging for casual moviegoers. The movie also features an impressive soundtrack of original Hip Hop and R&B songs, set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City.
Please tell us about your favorite filmmakers.
Martin Scorsese is a favorite for his realistic storytelling and his films' memorable, quotable lines that have become part of everyday American culture. Quentin Tarantino’s unique, abstract filmmaking approach, where he often bends the narrative structure, is something I admire. George Lucas’s ability to create immersive worlds and characters that extend into spin-offs or series is something I aspire to emulate, particularly in creating films that continue the stories of their characters beyond the main narrative.

If you were given a good budget, what would be your ideal project?
If given a solid budget, I would create an action-packed movie or series featuring top-tier actors and stunt performers. I’d also incorporate visual effects and AI technology to enhance the realism of the action sequences while keeping costs manageable.
Describe how you would ensure that production is on schedule. What steps would you take?
As an independent filmmaker working with limited budgets, I prioritize thorough pre-production planning, including location scouting and scheduling meetings. By having everything organized beforehand, we can efficiently shoot the film on time, ensuring we stay on schedule and often come in under budget.
What was the hardest part of making 'STASH'?
The most challenging aspect of making 'STASH' was filming during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic with a $25,000 budget in New York City. Due to the restrictions, it was difficult to secure crew members like grips and audio workers, so we had to rely on natural lighting and a portable boom mic. Additionally, street permits were limited, which restricted our ability to shoot action sequences in various locations.

If possible, tell us about your next work. What plans do you have for your future work? The next project I’m working on is STASH 2: The Heartless. Logline: After a failed assassination attempt, Jay Haze is pulled back into the criminal underworld to face both old and new enemies while evading deadly hitmen. Synopsis: Jay Haze has settled into a quiet life in Miami when an attempt on his life leaves his girlfriend, Tanya, dead. Seeking vengeance, Jay returns to his criminal past to uncover who is behind the attack. Along the way, he must outrun a group of lethal hitmen, one of whom is shockingly his own mother. Current Status: The film is currently in production
