Shards: An Interview with Rusudan Gaprindashvili



Rusudan Gaprindashvili is a professional filmmaker from Georgia living in Germany. She has an education and professional background in visual and performing arts, media management and film production (State Film and Theatre University, Tbilisi, Georgia / University Of Georgia, Institute for Media Studies / ICP International Center of Photography NYC / SAE Institute Bochum, Middlesex University London - Digital Film Production). Her last short film "Shards" won the promotional award of the Oberhausen Short Film Festival. Recently she has been working on the documentary project "How to Talk to Lydia?" a German-Georgian co-production. The film has been part of several international platforms and festivals as DokLeipzig, BelDocs, East West Talent Lab, Krakow International Film Festival as part of B2B Doc Pitch and won Pitch the Doc award in 2022 in Belgrade. As a storyteller, she is particularly drawn to reflecting on life in the posthuman condition and the state of alienation.
