Director Biography - Tommy Husband

Tommy Husband is a writer, director, filmmaker and musician. His recent focus on music videos has seen him working with Stealing Sheep & Ex-Easter Island Head among others. The handheld, improvised and balletic nature of his camerawork has led to multiple collaborations with dancers, including 2022’s OUTPUT project Unease with dancer Aline Costa.

Liverpool Improvisation Collective (LIC) is a dance artist organisation founded in 1999, led by Mary Prestidge, Andrea Buckley and Paula Hampson. In 2009, LIC founded a designated dance research studio at Bluecoat Contemporary Arts Centre. A new phase of creative projects began supported in part by Liverpool City Council, Merseyside Dance Initiative, NorthWest dance agencies, and Arts Council England. The studio is an artist-led dance space used for research, rehearsal, workshops and performance. It provides a vital context and resource for artists to share their work. LIC have produced an extensive programme of training and performance opportunities to support their own artistic development and that of the wider community.
