Project Type: Feature Film

Project Title: Back by Popular Demand

Brief Synopsis: Trinity is a hardworking artist turned well-known performer who has paid many dues in the secular industry to make it to what others may see as a secure place. Her friend of many years, successful nightclub owner Syeed, and her agent Omar, who prides himself on helping Trinity reach the pinnacle of success, are now enjoying the finer things in life with no intent to change. Despite her success, Trinity senses a time for change and is torn between remaining on the broad path of sin or fleeing to the narrow path of righteousness. She decides to take a new direction, only to find a whole new world of fakeness and rejection. Her decision will either send her spiraling back to the dark side or aid her in continuing to a better life of moral behavior. However, her decision to take on this new direction may have been too little too late as she reneges on her faith in God yet again. The stakes are too high, and the cost is too big for redemption. Sammy, an event planner and promoter for major events, is Trinity's long-lost lover. Trinity doesn’t bring home less than $250k after taxes and after everyone else has been paid. With Sammy and Omar’s help, she does no less than six shows per year, not including nightclub gigs. The challenges she faces threaten to unravel everything she has worked for. Despite their past relationship, the only time Trinity hears from Sammy is when she gets checks in the mail, which lets her know Sammy is alive and well. Sammy pays Trinity those big checks after each event. Sammy informs Trinity that Omar, who is portrayed as Trinity’s nephew but is actually her son, is in really big trouble. Omar's debt to Ms. D, the notorious lord of underground activities, has doubled because he lost big at a poker game. Ms. D intends to keep Omar as one of her play toys. On the other hand, Pastor Brown, a crooked community pastor, learns that Trinity is looking for a location to film her first gospel video. Pastor Brown's weekly high-stakes gambling games are held at Ms. D’s underground poker games. Pastor Brown and Trinity end up making a sizeable monetary deal in the church during a revival, turning God’s house of prayer into a den of thieves. This is where things take a turn for the worse.
